Faculty & Staff

The Institute for U.S. Law’s faculty and guest lecturers are professors at some of the leading law schools in the United States, for example, Harvard, Yale, Columbia, Penn, Virginia, Georgetown, George Washington University, Catholic University of America, and American University. These professors condense their expertise into intensive, yet interactive lecture formats in which program participants are taught a broad spectrum of U.S. law in a relatively short period of time. As in most U.S. law schools, classes at the Institute for U.S. Law are taught primarily using the Socratic method, which involves rigorous questioning of the students by the professor. Federal and state court judges also serve as guest lecturers in the Institute's programs as do senior attorneys from various agencies and departments of the U.S. Government, such as the U.S. Department of Justice, U.S. Department of State, and U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Lastly, experienced attorneys from leading U.S. law firms offer real world perspectives from their areas of experience and expertise.

Faculty and lecturers for each IUSLAW program are selected in consultation with the IUSLAW Board of Advisors.

For information regarding faculty and lecturers for the annual summer program, go to U.S. Legal Methods: Introduction to U.S. Law.
